Data Protection

At Ralph Bentley we abide by EU and UK Regulations with regard to Data Protection and Personal Data.

We may need to share your data with 3rd parties for the purpose of processing and delivering your order. For example, your contact telephone number and address details will be passed to our courier, Royal Mail or ParcelForce, for the purpose of delivering your item(s) to a home or work address.

GDPR - New for 2018

Under the new GDPR regulations, as of May 2018, Humber Distribution Limited t/a Ralph Bentley will not contact you via email, telephone or post in relation to any form of marketing or advertising without explicit permission. If you wish to receive marketing material from Ralph Bentley, in the form of a weekly or monthly email, you will need to subscribe via our newsletter at the bottom of every page.

Our newsletter subscription software has also been updated and requires you to Double Opt-In by verifying your email address, before we can add you to our newsletter mail-out. This is all completely automated and nobody from our in-house team will see your email address until it has been verified and added to our database.

Even after you have subscribed and verified that you wish to receive marketing material, all emails will include an 'Unsubscribe' link in the footer. If you click this link, you will be removed from our email marketing database and we will be unable to send you any further emails, unless the email relates to order processing or delivery e.g. emails that you really need to receive and not containing any marketing or promotional offers.

Which 3rd Parties Have Access To My Data?

At Ralph Bentley we're incredibly transparent with our working practices. To this end, here is a list of the organisations that 'may' see certain information about you as you use our website or place orders online:

Google Analytics - for tracking users anonymously across our website and checkout

PayPal - for taking payment. You will be taken to PayPal.co.uk/.com and your payment details will be stored by PayPal themselves. Ralph Bentley do NOT have access to your credit/debit card information and we do NOT store this on our systems.

MailChimp - for e-Newsletters and now requiring a double opt-in. If you received our emails pre - March 2018, you'll need to sign up again, as we have deleted all of our customer profiles as part of our data cleansing exercise.

VeInteractive - used for cart abandonment emails. If you close your browser by mistake or your credit/debit card doesn't seem to work at the checkout, you'll receive an automated email with your shopping basket and a telephone number to call for assistance.

Web Servers - our domain registrar and server solutions provider do not have access to customer data. They have not been given any form of access to our customer data or payments providers and simply host our website using individual, dedicated servers in the UK.
